DENNIS REINKE
Watercolor, Oil, Acrylic
"Painting the Scenes You Love" has been the hallmark of artist Dennis Reinke, painting commissions in watercolor and oil painting while living in the mountains of Estes Park, Colorado; Wallowa, Oregon; and recently Comfort, Texas. Subjects included landscapes, oceans and streams, horses, longhorns, pets, wildlife, and portraits.
Now living in Winchester, Virginia near family, his work has focused on sharing his joy painting "Watercolor Impressions of Winchester." Creative years in construction, architecture, and sculpture seemed to flow to watercolor in Winchester.
He has participated in plein air painting competitions and art shows in many states, and has taught both sculpture and painting in Colorado, Oregon, and Texas. Interestingly, one of his sculptures is in the Virginia Museum of Wildlife Art's permanent collection.
After having been given a kick start by artist Clyde Aspevig, he studied color theory and the use of primary colors. Dennis was intrigued by the luminosity of the work of Maxfield Parrish. He has attended workshops and classes by artists Gerald Balciar, Hollis Williford, Fritz White, sculptors and painters Buffalo Kapinski, Kim English, and Irving Shapiro, along with anatomy workshops with Jon Zahourek.
