LINDA LOPEZ

Encaustic

As an enaustic artist, Linda Lopez finds inspiration in the ever-changing landscapes of nature. She took an encaustic class 8 years ago and now uses this medium to express her artistic voice. Linda uses the unique properties of melted wax and artist mediums such as oils, pastels, and ink to create dynamic layers. Each layer of wax is fused with a heating element such as a torch or heat gun. Linda's work reflects her connection to the natural world, where the interplay of colors, transparency, and textures echoes the beauty and complexity of the landscape and nature. Linda also uses the encaustic medium with her photography to create captivating mixed media pieces. She aims to develop a sense of tranquility and contemplation through her encaustic works of art.
Linda is a member of the International Encaustic Artists (IEA). She was previously a member of the IEA chapter Florida Wax group and maintained a presence at the Hub Gallery in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Linda additionally showed her work individually with the Florida Wax group at the Galerie Elan in Daytona Beach, Florida, Art Lofts in St. Pete, Florida, and the Art Ovation Hotel in Sarasota Florida.
Linda also offers classes and accepts commissions - her contact info can be found beneath the sample gallery of her work below.
